When you and your family and friends are ready to head out for a road trip, you’ll need an SUV with plenty of space for all your passengers and gear. Fortunately, the Ford Explorer was built with those needs in mind.

Room for Everyone

Up to seven people can ride in the Explorer with ample space for everyone onboard. The second and third rows come standard as plush bench seats, while you can also swap out the middle-row bench for the available captain’s chairs. Even taller riders can appreciate the airy overhead space thanks to the high roof, and the considerable legroom and shoulder space make it easy to stretch out and relax over long rides. Ford has appointed the cabin with quality materials, and the standard furnishings are easy on the eyes and soft to the touch. To enhance the fit and finish, consider optional features like the Limited trim’s leather upholstery.

Hearty Hauling

The 2021 Explorer stands out in the midsize SUV class with its impressive storage capacity, and you can haul all your cargo with ease thanks to its cavernous stowing space. In the back of the SUV, you’ll find more than 18 cubic feet ready for all your groceries and luggage. If you need more space for even bigger hauls, you can also fold the back row for 47.9 cubic feet. To transport cumbersome items like furniture, the Explorer’s second row can be folded as well, opening up a maximum of 87.8 cubic feet for storage.

Technology at Your Fingertips

The Explorer comes standard with Ford’s celebrated SYNC 3 infotainment system, which features crystal-clear readouts and easily accessible menus. Everything is controlled through the standard 8-inch touchscreen that responds promptly to your inputs. The SUV also comes standard with smartphone synchronization capabilities for both Apple and Android devices, as well as onboard Wi-Fi and satellite radio. You can explore the Explorer’s long list of available tech for even more features like a rear-seat entertainment system as well as a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. Standard safety tech includes pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and driver drowsiness monitoring.
